Privacy Policy

Braintech LLC dba SniperMate.com ("SniperMate", "we") runs the auction sniping service at snipermate.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. SniperMate is offered to users in the United States only.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name and email address, and your Google account ID if you sign in with Google.
  • Your SniperMate password: stored only as a one-way hash, so nobody can read it. Accounts created with Google Sign-In have no password.
  • Your ShopGoodwill sign-in session: when you connect ShopGoodwill, your ShopGoodwill password is sent once to ShopGoodwill and never stored. We keep only the session ShopGoodwill issues, encrypted.
  • Snipes and purchases: the auctions you schedule, your maximum bids and results, your Snipe Win balance and purchase history.
  • Messages you send us: what you write in the contact form, with your name and email.
  • Technical data: your IP address and browser details, used to keep the service secure and to block spam and abuse.

We do not collect your payment card details. Card payments are entered on a secure form provided by Stripe, our payment processor, and go directly to Stripe.

How we use it

  • To run your account and place the bids you schedule, at the time you chose.
  • To send account emails: verification, password resets, and alerts such as an expired ShopGoodwill session.
  • To process purchases and keep your Snipe Win balance.
  • To answer your messages, and to protect the service from fraud, spam and abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers that help us run SniperMate, and only what each one needs:

  • a payment processor (Stripe), for purchases;
  • an email delivery provider, for account emails;
  • hosting and security providers, which serve the site and filter out bots;
  • Google, if you choose to sign in with Google;
  • ShopGoodwill, which receives the bids we place on your behalf.

Legal requirements. We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; enforce our agreements; investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents; or protect the rights, property, or safety of SniperMate, our users, or others.

Business transfers. If SniperMate is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

Third-party services. SniperMate interacts with third-party services, including ShopGoodwill, Google, and Stripe. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. SniperMate is not responsible for the privacy or security practices of third-party services.

Cookies

SniperMate sets one cookie, to keep you signed in. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Google Sign-In and our security provider's bot check may set their own cookies or use technical signals from your browser, to sign you in and to tell people from automated traffic.

How we protect it

  • Every page is served over HTTPS.
  • Your ShopGoodwill session is encrypted with AES-256-GCM, tied to your account, and never sent back to your browser.
  • Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes.

No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we keep and protect what we hold. Our Security page has more detail.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. Disconnecting ShopGoodwill deletes the stored session immediately. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to answer them and keep a record of the conversation.

When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account except information we are required or reasonably need to retain for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, dispute-resolution, or enforcement purposes. Information may also remain temporarily in secure backups until those backups are overwritten in the ordinary course.

Your choices and rights

  • Delete your account at any time in Settings. Your account, your snipes and your remaining Snipe Wins are removed, as described under "How long we keep it".
  • Disconnect ShopGoodwill at any time; the stored session is deleted.
  • Access or correct your data: update your details in Settings, or email us for a copy of what we hold.

Depending on your state, you may have further rights, such as to know, correct or delete your personal information. Email us to use them; we will not treat you differently for doing so.

Children

SniperMate is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. For significant changes, we will also email account holders.
